“Farewell, farewell…” singing while hearing the ringing of the voices of everybody on stage in the concert hall, the level of my emotions is rising exponentially. I am grateful, I am happy, I am overwhelmed, I am satisfied, I am said. These will be the last lines, I am going to perform with the amazing cast of the Lamont Opera Theatre Company.

As I reflect on the past two years, I really do not know what to think about first, counting all the many great experiences I have been privileged to collect. It has been an incredible journey, one that has been marked by countless rehearsals, dance choreographies, discussions about music, and quality time spent with some of the most amazing and inspiring people I have ever met.

Being a part of this ensemble has been a privilege in every sense of the word. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented artists from all over the world, each of whom has brought their unique perspective and expertise to the table. The coaches, teachers, guest artists, and pianists have all been instrumental (pun intended 😉 ) in shaping my growth and development as a performer, and I am more than grateful for their guidance and support.

There have been so many highlights along the way, but a few that stand out include our productions of The Little Prince, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the excerpts from Alcina, La Cenerentola, and Anna Bolena. Chasing down erupting Baobabs on stage, crying as a whole choir while observing death and injustice, “knocking” someone of my fellow performers “out” (for educational purposes in the context of stage combat training – no one hurt of course), or jumping around on stage while clapping to the lyrics of Footlose – I had so many “first times” during my experience at the Lamont School of Music. Each of these performances was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of everyone involved, and I am proud to have been a part of them.

“Fortune’s winds, sing Godspeed to thee”. After the last note of the song fade away, we continue waving at the ship still sweating from our choreography of Footlose a couple of minutes ago. Smiling with excitement about what is about to come I am saying good-bye to my years with the Lamont Opera Theatre Company. The farewell only becomes easier since I know that thanks to all of our creativity and talent, the likelihood of meeting again and being involved in new music projects in the future is high.
